Shapeway - Hand Printed Sun Rays
Presented as an installation at Eastern Bloc (Montreal, 2016), Sounds Like/Paved Arts (Saskatoon, 2016) and as a live projection at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (Montréal, 2015) with musician Katherine Kline.
Majeri and Kline explore the strange magic of everyday material life through live screenings that merge 16mm film and sound. Majeri’s films are conceived from several thousand handmade silkscreen prints, accompanied by Kline’s pieces for synthesizer and tape. Kline's work as a psychotherapist, and Majeri’s experience as a gardener and herbalist inspire them to weave links between material, earthly, technological worlds, and the immaterial, ineffable dimensions of psyche, energy and spirit. Paying homage to biodynamic and psychodynamic patterns, their work invokes a sensitivity to phenomena not normally perceived, and brings attention to a quality of enchantment that pervades the ‘ordinary.
